Rock Band-guy

Well here I am getting ready for the next couple days. Traveling to an undisclosed location for some Army training. The rest of my unit has already left this morning and myself and a few others are the only ones in the building. Naturally as is my luck, one of the guys left behind is the Rock Band-guy. You see Rock Band is one of those games that you play along with a plastic guitar to rock songs. It gives you a false sense of accomplishment and makes you beleive you are musically talented. The guy above me plays it constantly. What's worse is he had a bunion removed from his foot and got 30(!) days of recovery time. Heck I blew my shoulder out and got two weeks, he gets 30 for a bunion?! So he's home all day and night playing Rock Band, alone. Isn't it supposed to be a party game? So the one chance I have for peace and quiet while the mutants are away is ruined by Rock Band-foot-guy and I get to listen to Lynard Skynard over and over and over. Thank you Rock Band-guy, you suck.

Skool Update

Well UMUC was a complete failure. I registered for classes, squared away my TA, TA paid the college and the term started. Sounds good, right? No wrong, they insisted I was not registered yet and couldn't find me in the 'system'. After they took the Army's money for my tuition of course. I was not able to access my courses. This continued for the first week of the term. I contacted the university and talked to some support people (which BTW was not easy to do) and they told me basically, "Well, I dunno." Well I know and that is goodbye. They gave me my TA back and I'll never go to those dumbasses again. I can only imagine how screwed up the term would have been had I stayed.

So now I'm registered at American Military University an online only school that has military-type degree plans. So far so good. Registering was easy no problems with the TA but the term doesn't start until 06 Oct, so we'll see if I can access the courses. The best part is that my books are paid for with my TA which is very uncommon, so I pay nothing out of pocket. Wish me luck.

RQ295 - Foundations of Online blah, blah, blah
Basically a BS prerequisite most online schools have these. They suck and don't transfer a complete waste of time and money.

RQ301 - Intro to Military History
Sounds like fun, I'll take it.

Sorry for the delay.

Sorry I have not updated in a while. My laptop had a little mishap and I write this from the comfort of the post library. My laptop fell off my couch from a dizzying height of 18" and the tiny, plastic pin that the charger plugs into broke. It's now at the repair place at the next Camp but finding the time, transportation and not to mention someone that was able and willing to fix it was difficult. The guy here was not interested in doing any real work and told me to send it to the manufacturer (which will not ship it back to an APO). The next guy looked like he was going to take it and flee to the north. The guy who has it now was recommended and there was no language barrier between us. Hopefully it will be back in two weeks and so will I with some more pics and some school stuff to share. Speaking of picks my buddy here just spent $700 on a new camera, I think he's nuts, I call him my little asian tourist when we go out. I may buy his old camera for cheap.

Aaarrgh!

Today sucked and I need to complain. I'm TRYING to take courses and finish my degree but the school says I'm not a student. AFTER I've already paid them! I'm waaaayyy over here and with limited time and communications and the school talks to me like I'm in my living room somewhere with all the time in the world. All that and the Army sucks today.
