Surgery update

Feeling pretty good now. Started therapy twice a week. Pretty much out of the damn sling, I still use it in public. If I'm sitting on the couch or whatever I don't. Thankfully I don't need to sleep with it anymore. Can't really raise my arm or do anything with it yet. The doc says around 4-5 months. We'll see how it turns out. I have been enjoying my leave however. Not really doing much just getting caught up on sleep and reading. Wish I could do some stuff around the house though.

Gore

Had surgery again about a week ago. Hopefully my shoulder will stay put now. They fixed the back this time. Now a have a scar that nearly circumvents my whole shoulder from front to back. Here's a picture to gross you out.

New Dog

We drove to a nearby town and picked up a friend for Roscoe. She's another Boston and her name is Heavenly (ugh). We hate the name but she answers to it, so I guess we are stuck with it.

Here she is going home with us.

Napping on the couch.

Here's Roscoe as a comparison, they look alot alike.

Bye, till next time.

Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge

Earlier this month we went to the nearby wildlife refuge. The kids thought we where on safari.

The view from Mt Scott.

Spencer being serious.

I like Lily's little leg kick.

King of the mountain.

Medicine Park, OK a nice little resort town on the north side of the refuge.

Smelly bison.

The kids loved the prairie dogs.

Longhorn steers where everywhere.

He's still ugly.

Here's some new pics of Roscoe in the back yard. Age is not making him and better looking.

Military Ballin'

31st BDE Summer Ball 2009

We went to a military ball last night. It was nice to get away from the kids and mingle with my co-workers. Chanda got all dressed up and looked much better than I.

Getting settled in Lawton

Well here we are in Oklahoma. We found a small house to rent and are busy painting and unpacking. The kids are helping out and really like painting. which is good because I do not. I go back to work in a few days and will see how the new place is to work in.

T-minus

I'll be home soon and can't wait. To be frank, they can do anything they want to me at this point as long as it getsme on that bird.

Korean snacks

Just some snacks from the far east. As a cook I get into what other cultures eat and drink, specifically snack foods and alcohol.

Squishy octopus jerky.

Aloe water and fish (whole) jerky.

Shrimp (yes) fries, some chocolate wafers and chocolate-covered mushrooms.(?)

Soju (oh yes) and some Korean cigs.

Korean newspaper, some sort of chip-things and the chewy candies that I refer to as 'crack'.
